Welcome to Urinetown, the Musical!

Thanks for attending the Musical Parent meeting
The musical is a team effort, and we are all expected to pitch in! You don’t need to have any experience, just a little time and a desire to have fun and collaborate with other parents in support of our students!

After School Snacks
Support our after school snack efforts two ways: with your money and your time. Are you available at all during the school day? Help us shop for and stock up the fridge and cupboards with healthy, filling snacks for the performers, crew, and support staff. We could use one more person to help with this!

Donation requested for after school snacks: $40 for performers; $20 for costumers, PR team, and light/sound/running crew; $10 for pit orchestra. Donate via cash or check (made payable to STAGE) to Mr. Hawk, or via PayPal at the link in the sidebar.

Ad Sales
Are you a business owner or do you patronize a business that would like to support Garfield Theatre? We have a great ad opportunity in our musical playbill, which reaches 2500 audience members who come from all over the area. As a parent, you can also place an ad congratulating your student! For more information, contact ads@garfieldstage.org

Front of House Support
As we get closer to the show, we’re going to need volunteers to help provide food to sell at concessions and people to pick up donated coffee each night of the performances. Watch for emails for sign ups!

We also need a few dedicated volunteers to run the box office. It’s not hard, but you should be able to work under a little bit of pressure. We’ll provide full training on how to use our system. Email us at volunteers@garfieldstage.org if you want to learn more!

Work Parties
We will have a couple of Saturday work parties during the run-up to the show, where students and parents work together on sets. These are an opportunity to drop in when you can and put your painting, drilling, and hammering skills to work! Keep your eye out for emails with dates.

We are looking for a few parents to help chaperone the annual trip to the Washington State Thespian Festival, in Bellingham March 22-24. Slots fill quickly for this quick, fun, easy trip — if you want to talk to a parent who has gone before to hear more about this opportunity, email info@garfieldstage.org or talk to Mr. Hawk.

Other help needed
Want to help with the website, or social media accounts? Take photos? Inventory the costume shop? Hang posters? Source props? Pick up and deliver printed materials? If you’ve got a little time, we’ve got something you can do. Come to our STaGe meetings (next one is March 15) or email us at volunteers@garfieldstage.org for more info.

BE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS. Every year we have a couple of parents who end up out of the loop because we don’t have a good email address for them. If you aren’t hearing from us and you can’t find our emails in your junk folder, please send an email to info@garfieldstage.org so we can make sure you’re on the list.

Don’t forget to join our Remind texting service (we won’t send you more than 4-5 texts total, this is just for important announcements/reminders). Text our class code @g9c44 to 81010 to join, or go to the Remind website and enter the class code there.
